  • Zion Canyon Narrows

    Zion Canyon Narrows

The Zion Canyon Narrows are absolutely infamous. Every summer I find new compositions that always keep me busy for hours on hours. The dynamic scene is a photographers paradise. The summer months drop the water level flow to a manageable flow rate. Beware of how quickly conditions can change in Zion National Park, flash floods are a very real and devastating danger. I highly recommend stopping at Zion Outfitter for a good pair of water shoes, and if conditions require, a wet suit.

  • The Watchman Storm

    The Watchman Storm

I love being out in storms. Most of the time Just as a major storm settles down, the best pictures can be taken.
This image is from Zion National Park. The view of the Watchman can be seen from the bridge at SR9 Junction.

  • Zion National Park Monsoon Season

    Zion National Park Monsoon Season

Monsoon Season in Zion National Park is June through September. Many people prefer to get out of Canyon and search for shelter. I am always the opposite! If a storm is brewing I grab all of my rain gear, including umbrella and run up to capture the amazing scene. During this trip I knew that the storm was passing and would clear up to show the Milky Way. So I spent a few hours holding my umbrella over my gear when I just happened to glance off to the left. This amazing Rainbow spanning the entire canyon was so vibrant and bright I couldn't help but stop my time-lapse and photograph this. I was even lucky enough to capture the Zion Shuttle! Take aways from this experience were; I need 3 cameras! 1 for my stills, 1 for my time-lapse and 1 for little rainbows that pop up!

    Watchman Summer Night

Summer nights in Zion National Park are unparalleled. The milky way is bright and clear on most new moon nights during the hot summer months.

Just as a major storm settled I was able to capture this stunning image.

  • Angels Landing

    Angels Landing

Zion National Park's Angels Landing is impossible to describe. I will do my best, One of the most awe inspiring hikes in the world. I remember the first time I sat in this location already winded from the extreme elevation gain and realized the real hike was about to begin! You make your way up the chains and across the blade like formation of rock all the way to the top where the sense of accomplishment and joy are overwhelming

  • Kanarraville Falls

    Kanarraville Falls

The first time I hiked Kanarraville Falls I was surprised at just how big the first fall really is. I enjoyed the balancing act of climbing up the ladder that is bolted into this log. Over the years; the city has implemented a permit system. I love this as it cuts down on the traffic jam of people waiting to ascend the log ladder

  • The Subway, Zion National Park

    The Subway, Zion National Park

Easily one of my favorite adventures ever. The Subway in Zion National Park is the iconic location everyone thinks of when they hear Zion. I was lucky enough to get a permit to complete the top down hike of the Subway in peak season. Top down in the Subway requires a lottery permit and technical canyoneering knowledge and equipment.

  • The Court of the Patriarchs

    The Court of the Patriarchs

Zion National Park's Court of the Patriarch's is one of my favorite hidden gems. During a winter rain / hail storm, I was able to capture this amazing scene in a state many people never get the opportunity to see. Long exposure of a flooding waterfall is my favorite thing to capture. Seeing the amazing streaks of mud and water run through a scene are so exciting to me. Snow never lasts long in Zion National Park. I recommend a visit if its Snowing!

This little Pine Tree is so strange as it began growing upside down! It reminds me of the Bonsai Tree's. A little light painting can change a scene so much!
